Welcome to AEE IISWBM Kolkata Chapter, India

The first chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers, (the renowned body of energy professionals with 147 chapters over the globe including 70 in the US and 77 in other countries) in India was inaugurated on February 21, 2003 by H.E. Mr. George N Sibley, the American Consul General, Consulate General of USA in Kolkata at IISWBM. This facilitates the senior managers in energy intensive industries in the region to share with the US counterparts on state-of-the-art technology and practices in Energy Management. The AEE IISWBM Kolkata Chapter, India boasts of securing the international awards during the last eighteen years i.e. since the year of its inception in 2003. The Chapter has been adjudged with award of various categories like best chapter website, best student chapter, best community service, best chapter newsletter, etc. The Chapter has also received Best Overall Chapter Performance Award in the year 2005, 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015 and 2018.

Our Goals

Our prime goals are to strengthen the energy efficiency measures and advocate the best practices being adopted globally besides development of required skill among young graduates/professionals for energy security and sustainability.

Our Mission

The Association of Energy Engineers' mission is to promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry and to foster action for sustainable development.

Objective

  • To promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry.
  • To foster cooperative action in advancing by all lawful means the common purposes of its members and promote activities designed to enable the industry to be conducted with the greatest economy and efficiency.
  • To afford due consideration to and expression of opinion questions affecting the industry and to hold Meetings for the presentation and discussion of energy related subjects.
  • To cooperate with other industries, organizations and government.
  • To conduct or engage in all lawful activities in furtherance of the foregoing purposes or incidental thereto.
  • To affiliate with and promote the objectives of the Association of Energy Engineers, USA.

Activities

  • To organize technical workshops for information sharing and exchange.
  • To create awareness campaigns on energy efficiency.
  • To recognize and reward ideas and works in energy efficiency practice.
  • To propagate the idea and concept of energy efficiency among other interested associations.
  • To impart the knowledge of energy management and energy efficient practices among budding future energy managers.
